Brian Wachhorst:

Acoustic Guitar Duo

Visit the Musician's Page

Brian & Jay features the acoustic blend of Brian Wachhorst and Jay Middleton. Brian & Jay have performed together since 1997. The exciting chemistry that Brian & Jay bring to their performances make lasting impression on guests at corporate events, benefits and private parties throughout the Bay Area. Their comprehensive repertoire makes them appropriate for almost any setting. They have a unique ability to play almost any request on the spot. Because they play by ear, they are willing to be spontaneous and do whatever it takes to please an audience. Based on their success together Brian & Jay co-founded the popular Bay Area dance band All Star Jukebox in 2003. They offer trio and quartet acoustic ensembles in addition to their duo if requested.

Jay Middleton (vocals): This talented San Francisco vocalist and composer has been performing his unique brand of pop folk all over the U.S. for the last 25 years. Jay was the co-founder, co-songwriter and lead singer of the popular Bay Area quintet "Occams Razor" which released two nationally distributed albums and toured the U.S. extensively during the mid-90's. Grammy-nominated producer John Cuniberti (Joe Satriani, The Neville Brothers, Michael Manring) produced the band's second album, "Mister Moon". Jay wrote the hit single "She Said" from "Mister Moon" which enjoyed a brief stay in the U.S. Top40 chart. "Mister Moon" received airplay on KFOG and led to a live on-air performance and interview of the band.

Brian Wachhorst (guitar/ vocals): Brian was the founder and lead singer of the power-pop quartet, The Aftershocks. The 1993 SF Weekly reader's poll named them as one of the ten most popular Bay Area bands along with Counting Crows and Cake. Brian started another project in 1994 - the Bay Area headliner YellowWood Junction. YellowWood Junction performed regularly to packed houses across the Western U.S., sharing the stage with bands like Train and Third Eye Blind. In 1995, KFOG featured Brian's song "Fade to Blue" on the "10 O'clock News" radio broadcast. This was just the beginning of his extensive international AAA radio airplay, which includes four songs from his album "The Life of Riley" (released in 2000).

The Latin Experience

In his extensive musical career, Danilo has played with extraordinary internationally known musicians such as Ray Baretto, Ruben Blades, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Benny Velarde and his Super Combo, Andy Narell, Ray Obiedo, Dave Valentin, Dizzy Gillespie, and Cal Tjader. He demonstrates some of his best work on bongo and vocals on Ruben Blades' CD, "Ruben Blades and Son del Solar, Live!"

"I feel lucky knowing that I have such a strong foundation in jazz, Caribbean music, and at the same time was exposed to the great soneros such as Cheo Feliciano, Ruben Blades, Hector La Voe, and Rafael de Jesus. I have taken these roots and have developed my own style of singing, composing and producing my music. I am a person who believes in the future and in the latest innovations (technological and other), and believe that Salsa and Latin Jazz should continue evolving, but we should not forget our roots."

As his solo career advanced, he sang with Duke Ellington and has appeared in New York, Boston, London, Rome and Paris as well as a 6 month run at the Fairmont Hotel. Most recently he starred in A Tribute to Nat Cole.

Noah, since the age of 7, has delighted audiences with his marvelous voice. From 1953 to 1958 he sang as a soloist with the San Francisco Boy's Chorus under the direction of the late Madi Bacon, Noah had the privilege of performing in Carmen, Boris Gudenov, Turandot and soloing in La Boheme with the San Francisco Cosmopolitan Opera Company. The Boy's performed at the 1956 Republican convention in San Francisco sharing the stage with Nat Cole and Johnny Ray. Leontyne Price and Paul Robeson were two of the legends with whom the Boy's also combined.

In the late 50's Noah helped formed a Rock group called the Kings covering Ricky Nelson's "Lonesome Town" on a USO recording which went overseas to our troops stationed in Europe. By 1960 he was off on his own singing at various local venues, teen dances and school rallies. He began study with the respected Judy Davis. The highlight of his high school career was winning a coveted opportunity to audition at the world renowned "hungri i' nightclub . It was also during those years he was signed to a minor record label and performed on the bill with the "Shirelles". College years at Fisk University began more intense voice study under James Van Lowe and association with the Fisk University Choir and the famed Jubilee Singers. It was during this time that the choir sang with Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Philharmonic and was the choir selected to do Porgy and Bess with the Nashville Symphony where Noah had a solo.

While attending Harvard Law, Noah resumed his singing career performing regularly in and around the Boston area at the "Point After", the "Ramada Inn on the Charles" and various other venues. It was during that period he was selected to solo with Duke Ellington in his Boston debut of his "Sacred Concert". A favorite at Giants Games Noah along with collaborator Bob Voss wrote the opening day song for the Giants at then Pac Bell Park. The two collaborated for the dreamy anthem and official Ballad of the Golden Gate Bridge now poised for re-release in time for the Bridge's 70th anniversary this May.This version is produced by former Motown producer and writer Michael B. Sutton. Noah and Bob collaborated on a highly popular Christmas CD with two original songs Noah wrote for the production which merit annual local airplay.

Eddie Fisher has called him a "great singer" and George Shearing "loves his work".

Jazz Brunch Hosted By Cedric Dennis (11:00 AM)

cedricdennisCedric Dennis

Vocal and Solo Guitar

Having considered the San Francisco Bay Area home, he began playing in many of the local restaurants and clubs. It wasn't uncommon to hear him playing an afternoon jazz brunch followed by an R&B gig late that night. This, in part, was because of his love for many different styles of music as we as his love for various composers. He has not just shared the stage with, but played with Sting, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., Shanice Wilson, Tevin Campbell, Lydia Pense(Cold Blood), Narada Michael Walden, Earl Klugh, Gerald Alston of the Manhattans, Keb Mo, Bob Weir, Norton Buffalo, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Lisa Fischer and Dominic Miller. He has recorded with numerous bay area groups(Narada Michael Walden, The Braxton Brothers, Ledisi and Anibade, Ricardo Scales, Jean Carne, Dave and Zoe Ellis) as well as many east coast bands(Teodross Avery, Rueben Wilson). His live performances with these and other artist have taken him all over the world(Switzerland, England, France, Russia, Washington DC, Chicago, Houston and Detroit). Cedricke always seems to be searching for new ways to express his highly captivating and emotionally riveting music. It's always front and center in his evolution as a musician. As the quest continues for this "new expression", his fans will be in for a real treat.
